Breed for sound body and temperament, and to improve the conformation of the dogs as set by the American Miniature Schnauzer Club and approved by the American Kennel Club.

Not knowingly sell to pet shops, wholesalers, or any unethical dog breeders, or donate a dog to be sold at raffle or auction.

Keep records and pass on to each buyer the puppy or adult dog’s breeding, health, pedigree, and registration records (unless the latter are withheld by written agreement between the Buyer and Seller).

Stipulate by written agreement between the Buyer and Seller that a puppy or dog must be neutered when it has hereditary faults that would be detrimental to the betterment of the breed, and, if not yet individually registered, to sell or place said dog with limited registration privileges.

Never place a puppy under seven weeks of age; the suggested age would be 8 weeks or older.

See that all puppies have received at least one set of inoculations as recommended by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) prior to selling, and if ears are to be cropped, it is the breeder’s responsbility.

Sell all puppies with a written contract guaranteeing health of puppy with the Purchaser having three (or four) business days to have the puppy checked by a licensed veterinarian. If anything is seriously wrong with the puppy, it will be exchanged for another of equal value (or when another is available), or the Purchaser’s money will be refunded. If the Purchaser finds that this dog must be placed in a new home at any time during its lifetime, I will take the dog back or help the Owner place it in another home.

Provide to all buyers written information on care of puppy. Inform them of the club’s grooming classes and stress how important it is to learn how to care for one’s own dog.

Keep my breeding stock, to the best of my knowledge, in the best of health with no external or internal parasites, and all immunizations will be up-to-date. To have eyes of all puppies examined by a certified veterinary ophthalmologist and eyes of breeding stock examined yearly.

Retire from breeding any sire or dam who is affected with or has produced offspring with a known hereditary health defect unless said dog is used for the express purpose of testbreeding.

Understand that if I fail to follow the above, I am liable for expulsion from the Twin Cities Miniature Schnauzer Club.
